So honest truth - this is my first Sherlock Holmes read, and I am glad I picked this one up. It was the right amount of intriguing and brilliant, living up to the mystery name. Of course, Holmes is an amazing character, but somewhere between the lines I picked up traces of the colonist nature, not in Holmes himself, but the way Britain was described.
One drawback though, was that it was too descriptive at some points, making the plot a little dragged. Especially in terms of Watson’s narration. Loved Holmes’s sense of humour and the climax was rewarding! But again, it could have been enhanced if the descriptiveness was toned down. However, looking forward to reading other Sherlock Holmes books…
