“The Great Gatsby” by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Well, first off, since it’s been a while, I had to jog my memory to review the novel. But nevertheless, it was averagely interesting and a very accurate reflection of America’s Interim period after World War I. The exuberant/luxurious lifestyle can be seen in every part of the plot.
As for the plot itself, when you break it down to the core, it seemed a typical war soldier - lost love story, but Gatsby’s complexity does give it more depth. I personally felt more intrigued by the narrator ‘Nick’, his manner of narration and personality showed more finer character lines. Overall, it was a good one, but I didn’t find a personal connection with it…well you can’t expect it with every book, right?
